Sarah Tallman started out in the floral industry at the age of fifteen, when she began working at a flower shop in her Connecticut hometown after school and on weekends. After graduating from Rollins College, Sarah moved to Manhattan to pursue a corporate career, all the while continuing to design arrangements for various events as well as decorate homes on the side throughout the years.
Sarah's passion for flowers continued as she climbed the corporate ladder in the beauty industry. She developed fragrance, makeup and skincare products for companies such as Estée Lauder, Prada and Ralph Lauren Fragrances. Her main focus was the actual development and marketing of products from initial concept all the way to the counter. Within the last five years in the beauty industry, Sarah focused on fragrance development, where she worked on new launches such as Prada Woman and Polo Black. She also focused on training her nose with perfumers to learn many of the notes and accords that make up the classics. Her fine-tuned nose led her to develop a signature scent for Grove (made up of Orange Flower and Bay Rum) as well as create new scents for up-and-coming brands and retailers.
In September 2006, Sarah decided it was time to follow her life-long dream of owning her own lifestyle brand, which would incorporate flowers, fragrance and home décor, and brought it to life in a uniquely executed shop called Grove, New York. Though Grove closed its doors at the end of October 2009, Sarah started up a new firm called Sarah Tallman Design, and she continues to design, create and develop in all of these areas that she loves: homes, flowers and fragrance. |
